Public Art Plan

The Public Art Plan was launched by Plymouth City Council and Plymouth Culture in September 2016, alongside the Visual Arts Plan.

It aims to redefine Plymouth’s relationship with public art in its widest possible sense – developing a city-wide approach that offers new kinds of cultural experiences in the public realm, nurtures producing talent and creates opportunities for artists to respond and contribute to Plymouth’s built and natural environment, living culture and heritage. Arts organisations from across the city worked with award-winning arts producers Situations to develop the Plan.

Situations’ world-leading experience in public art also helped the group create ‘The Plymouth Principles’, a guide to inspiring, supporting and nurturing the city’s public art developments.
