Cottonian Collection Oils
There are 22 oil paintings in the Cottonian Collection including a number of works by Reynolds.

‘Beauty Tempted by Love, Counselled by Prudence’ by Angelica Kauffmann, RA
They include a series of family portraits, and also the founder of the collection, Charles Rogers FRS FSA (1711-1784). There is also a portrait of William Cotton (1794-1863) of Ivybridge, eventual benefactor of the collection to Plymouth. The remainder represent the different European schools, as in the print collection.
