We are sorry that this exhibition is no longer on display in the Sherwell Centre. We are in the process of relocating it to an alternative venue so that it can be seen more easily. In the interim, the graphic panels available online to view as PDFs.

The Tamar Bridge, CornwallThe Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) celebrates its 200th anniversary throughout 2018.

Civil engineers have been shaping our towns and cities for centuries – developing transport systems and designing iconic structures; protecting the old and creating the new.

We are working in partnership with ICE South West and the University of Plymouth to mark this important bicentenary.

Our graphic exhibition celebrates some of the city’s best examples of civil engineering by Rendel, Brunel, Smeaton and more. It also highlights the new research that is currently taking place and which will help shape our world in the future.

The exhibition is displayed on the ground floor of the Sherwell Centre and features a series of 8 interpretation panels.
