Exhibition: Trevor Bell: Trans-Form
April 16th 2018 - May 26th 2018
Times: 10:00 - 17:00
This is a partnership exhibition delivered by
The Box, Plymouth and Peninsula Arts
In the final exhibition that he worked on before he sadly passed away, see a selection of 11 beautiful and monumental paintings from the 1990’s and 2000’s by award-winning artist Trevor Bell (1930-2017).
Along with other significant artists who were working in St Ives in the 1950s, he helped establish British art on the international stage. He also spent 20 years living and working in America and showed work on both sides of the Atlantic.
In this exhibition Bell’s paintings have provided the impetus for a sound score composed by Jamie Mills. This and the elemental energy of Bell’s work will be used as the inspiration for a new contemporary dance work co-choreographed and performed by Sarah Fairhall and Lois Taylor.
‘Trans-Form’ is conceived and curated by Joseph Clarke.
